Social connection troubleshooting

Fix Facebook connection issues

Use this page when Facebook setup is cancelled or fails. Most fixes come down to using the right Facebook profile, checking who manages the Page, and making sure the Page is linked the way Meta expects.

Most Facebook connection failures happen because the wrong Facebook profile was used, the person does not fully manage the Page, or the Page and Instagram setup are connected under a different business area.

What must be true before you retry

Sign in with the Facebook profile that actually manages the Page you want to connect.
Make sure that profile has enough Page access to manage content, not just view the Page.
If someone else owns the Page, ask them to grant you the right Page access in Meta Business Suite or Page settings before trying again.
If you also want Facebook and Instagram to work together, confirm that the correct Instagram professional account is linked to the same Facebook Page.
Finish the permission screens instead of closing the popup halfway through.

The failure patterns we expect most often

The wrong Facebook profile is signed in

Facebook opens normally, but the Page you need never shows up. This usually means the browser is signed into a different profile than the one that manages the Page.

The login window was closed or rejected

If the popup is closed or you tap cancel, Facebook sends you back without a working connection.

The Page exists, but you cannot fully manage it

Seeing a Page in Meta is not always enough. The person connecting it needs the right level of Page access.

Facebook and Instagram are linked in the wrong place

If your team expects both accounts to work together, check that the correct Instagram professional account is linked to the same Facebook Page.
